After completing a degree in sports studies in 1999, I have worked as a lecturer and co-managed a personal training gymworking in cardiac rehabilitation since 2005.
My career has evolved from BASES accredited exercise practitioner to clinical researcher investigating cardiac and kidney disease patients.
I have been working towards my doctoral thesis
part-time over the last 6 years on a project involving advanced heart failure patients and electrical muscle stimulation funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). I have been an Atrium Director since 2009 and have worked closely with the other directors, Pat Marson and Gordon McGregor, to acquire and refurbish the Centre for Exercise and Health, and working to expand our services to include rehabilitation for other conditions.
